I always struggle with the news section of my site...as you can see. I never like boasting about what is happening in my career, even though that is the only purpose for having a website. But I figured that I should mention somewhere that I won a regional critics award for the Richmond area: Best Actor in a Musical for the role of Rach in Dave Malloy's incredible Preludes (2018 Richmond Theater Critics Circle Awards)... Honestly, the musical is incredible and anyone doing the role would have stood out... thank you Mr Malloy! and thank you Billy-Christopher Maupin (who might I add got Best Director for the same show...mmhmmm)!
I was just signed to perform again for Second Presbyterian Church of Richmond. I will be performing multiple sacred solos for their service on Sunday July 21st. I am very excited to sing in such a wonderful space with the incredible Michael Simpson who is simply wonderful on the organ.
I had a wonderful time singing at Second Presbyterian Church of Richmond today. It was such a welcoming group with a beautiful sound. They were extremely easy to sing with them. Jeffrey Riehl, the Director of Music, has done an amazing job with a talented group. I hope I get the chance to sing there again.
Today was a wonderful day! Met with Virginia Repertory Theatre and signed on to perform in Virginia Repertory's Summer show Busy Town at Willow Lawn. I am so excited to finally get to be directed by Jan Guarino. It's going to be a wonderfully busy summer!
Shot two scenes today for Happily Never After as the ex-husband of the bride. Got to hang out with some wonderful people. Got to do one of my scenes with Sarah Kaminsky who I got to co-star with in Dead Air a couple of years ago. Then met actress/photographer from Richmond, Meghan Marchetti. (hmmm...apparently she does headshots...just saying). Also got to talk to (and share camera time with) DC-up-and-comer, Sara Dawn Taylor-Torres.
It was wonderful working with such great people... everyone had their A-game on... those scenes are going to look wonderful. I will keep you updated as to when it airs... it'll be great! Had a productive day down in Hampton Roads yesterday as I accompanied Jamie Sprovach to the set of Happily Never After to shoot her scenes of the episode that we will be in together. Got permission to get a much needed haircut from hair and makeup and ended up running into Greg Ganakas, an incredible director whom I have had the honor of assisting for the most amazing production of King and I, while waiting for my haircut to begin. Greg is back in town Directing this year's Virginia Opera Production of Carousel. This will be a must see for everyone!
Tomorrow, it's back to Hampton Roads to shoot my scenes! Just signed on for another episode with M2 Productions. I will be on set next week as the ex-husband in an episode of Happily Never after! Yay! Thank you Sylvia!
Exhausted after a long day's shooting up in Baltimore for House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey. Constance Zimmer ,Sebastian Arcelus, and Kate Mara were all great and gave wonderful performances. What a great day!
